I have worked in new product development and Innovation for a good few years and currently as a NPD and Innovation Consultant. I’m a firm believer in the human-centered approach to product development but I have never received a formal qualification in Design Thinking.
So I have decide to return to education again and registered to do a postgraduate course. I’m really looking forward to starting my Innovation through Design Thinking @ UCC postgraduate diploma. I think it will sit very well beside my Irish Management Institute Strategy & Innovation and my MSc in Digital Marketing from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. It will help me support my Foodovate clients with their innovation and new product development endeavours.

A large part of design thinking is understanding the pain points in the consumer’s life and addressing these pains in the product and packaging design. This will make it more likely that the customer will pick up the product off the shelf and more importantly tell their friends about it.
